1.6-kilometre long forest history trail.

Forests are more than just a recreational area: they are a source of wood, a water reservoir, a habitat for animals and plants, a climate regulator, a workplace, a source of income - and thus a true multi-talent. But not so long ago, the forest meant much more to people, was even existentially important for the survival of many families. The 1.6-kilometre-long forest history trail north-east of Bursfelde brings this time impressively back to life. The hiker learns about the era of glass production and charcoal burning in the Bramwald as well as about the times of forest pasture and the drifts used to drive cattle into the forest. Informative panels therefore make a hike along the forest history trail a journey into the past.
