Erlebnisregion Hann. Münden e. V.
The Erlebnisregion Hann. Münden e. V. is an association of all those who promote the development of tourism in the area of the Nature Park Münden financially, in terms of personnel and ideally. Members include the town of Hann. Münden, the district of Göttingen, the joint municipality of Dransfeld and Flecken Adelebsen, accommodation providers, gastronomy operators, guides, retailers, other tradespeople, private individuals, clubs and associations.
There are currently 17 cities in Lower Saxony behind "aboutcities", including Wolfenbüttel, Lingen, Verden, Papenburg and Hann. Münden, for example. The cities have joined forces to raise the profile of city tourism in Lower Saxony. The way to do this is through a travel blog where local bloggers provide special and concrete information for a successful city trip.
The German Half-Timbered House Route, launched in 1990, stretches from the Elbe in the north across Upper Lusatia in eastern Saxony to Lake Constance in the south. Under the motto "Half-Timbered Houses Connect", more than 100 half-timbered towns have now joined forces to present themselves together. However, the German Half-Timbered Houses Route not only connects unique landscapes, historical sites and lovingly restored monuments, but above all the people who live and work in them.
The German Fairy Tale Route (DMS) enjoys a very positive image not only in Germany and Europe but above all overseas and in Asia: the idea and the history are rooted, so to speak, in the Brothers Grimm's "Children's and Household Tales", which are spread all over the world and have now been recognised as a UNESCO World Documentary Heritage and whose bicentenary 'birthday' was recently celebrated. Through this connection, the German Fairy Tale Route also represents a positive and - in both senses of the word - the romantic image of Germany.
Hann. Münden is the only town in Lower Saxony to be part of the GrimmHeimat. A journey through the home of the Brothers Grimm is a journey into a land full of stories and adventures. It was here that Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm found inspiration for their house tales. Even today, the towns, castles, palaces and forests in the GrimmHeimat invite you to linger and retrace the world-famous fairy tales.
The five twin towns of Einbeck, Duderstadt, Hann. Münden, Northeim and Osterode am Harz are working together in the "Fachwerk5Eeck" project to make the region with outstanding half-timbered buildings attractive for living, working and living in the future. The project is intended to provide new impulses for tourism, the design of the towns and the economy and at the same time raise awareness of the special nature of the cultural heritage.
Lower Saxony is always worth a visit! Between the Harz Mountains and the East Frisian Islands, you'll find vibrant cities, charming gems and diverse landscapes.
The Werra Valley is hard to beat when it comes to scenic diversity: the romance of nature, healthy forests, flowery meadows, proud castles, half-timbered towns full of friendly people, culture galore - and it's been boundless for over 30 years.
Whether cycling, hiking, wellness, art and culture, half-timbered towns or boat trips - the places in the Weserbergland have a lot to offer. The region is ideal for an active holiday, as the Weser Cycle Path runs through the middle of the Weserbergland and is one of the most popular long-distance cycle paths in Germany. For hiking enthusiasts, the Weserbergland Trail, which has been awarded the "Wanderbares Deutschland" (Hiking in Germany) quality trail certificate and stretches some 225 km along the ridges of the Weser Mountains, offers the best opportunities.
The district of Göttingen in southern Lower Saxony stretches from the lovely banks of the Weser to the densely wooded Harz, Solling and the foothills of the Thuringian Forest. Thus, the Göttingen Land invites you to recreation, sports, nature and cultural experiences all year round. The magnificent forests, mountains and large river valleys offer ideal conditions for cycling and hiking. The Werra, Weser, Leine and Fulda invite you to paddle and canoe. The Göttinger Land leisure portal provides a comprehensive overview of leisure and tourism. Here you will find excursion destinations, cycling and hiking tours, accommodation, gastronomy and places to stop for refreshments as well as tourist offers and attractions and many an insider tip.
