Weser Cycle Route

The most beautiful journey to the sea

The journey begins in the half-timbered and three-river town of Hann. Münden. With almost no climbs, the well-maintained route takes you through a region that could hardly be more diverse.

It is not for nothing that the Weser Cycle Route has been one of the most popular long-distance cycle routes in Germany for many years. The first stage, the Weserbergland with its wooded mountain ranges, is adorned with many architectural gems. Castles in the style of the Weser Renaissance, baroque monasteries and unique half-timbered houses from six centuries. Along the "German Fairy Tale Route" that runs here, the Liar Baron Münchhausen, the Pied Piper of Hamelin or - further north - the Bremen Town Musicians greet visitors. Shortly before Minden, the Porta Westfalica impressively opens the way for the Weser into the North German Plain. Via Nienburg, marsh, moor and Geest landscapes, you reach the largest city on the Weser: Bremen.

Werratal Cycle Route

300 km of romantic river landscape

The Werra Valley is hard to beat in terms of scenic diversity. The romance of nature, healthy forests, flowery meadows, proud castles, colourful half-timbered towns, culture galore - and all that without borders for over 20 years.

Cycle almost 300 km through a river landscape in the middle of Germany that is as romantic as it is interesting. The Werratal cycle path leads from the Rennsteig almost to the sea. Starting at the Werra springs in the Thuringian Forest, the tour goes along the mountain and meadow panorama of Eisfeld and Themar. It continues through the theatre town of Meiningen, past the Rhön Mountains with their many crests and the "Land of the White Mountains", crowned by "Monte Kali" visible from afar. The course runs through wide river meadows and narrow breakthrough valleys with limestone reefs. Within sight of proud castles, through charming Hessian half-timbered towns and tranquil spas to the destination - the confluence of the Werra and Fulda rivers to form the Weser and from there even to the sea.

Weser-Harz-Heath Cycle Route

Münden to Lüneburg, the Weser-Harz-Heide long-distance cycle route connects diverse cultural landscapes with impressive natural experiences in Lower Saxony over 400 kilometres.
