He was no quack, no charlatan, but an extraordinarily successful doctor. As a traveling doctor, he went from market to market and cured all kinds of aches and pains. With the help of comedians, he attracted patients and numerous onlookers. While he operated, loud music and the antics of the harlequins drowned out the cries of the patients.
