Wanfrieder Schlagd

Short facts

  • Hann. Münden

The Wanfrieder Schlagd is a newly developed promenade about 130 metres long.

It is located in the immediate vicinity of the old town and the historic Werrabrücke bridge. The history of the Wanfrieder Schlagd dates back to the 16th century. Today, the Wanfrieder Schlagd, together with the Dielengraben promenade and the Kasseler Schlagd, is a popular attraction and starting point for many visitors and tourists. A newly designed viewing platform is located directly at the confluence of the Werra and Fulda rivers to form the Weser. In addition to the benches, there is a stage on the viewing platform that is used for events and a staircase that leads down to the river.
