The Münden Forestry Office of Lower Saxony manages an area of around 10,600 hectares of state forest and around 8,000 hectares of managed forests in the districts of Göttingen and Northeim with its 13 district forestry offices. The forestry office is headed by Forest Director Dr. Thomas Schmidt-Langenhorst. The foresters manage the forest according to the principle of sustainability: all forest functions, i.e. the utilization, protection and recreational functions, must be in harmony in order to secure the forest for our descendants in the long term.
