The medieval model village of Steinrode is open on Sundays from mid-March to mid-October.
The buildings - church, kitchen, smithy, wood workshop, pottery, information house and the large reeve's house - in the medieval model village of Steinrode are arranged around the village square and lie protected behind a palisade. From the watchtower, you can see everything. Here, children and young people can playfully let themselves be transported back to the everyday life of yesteryear.
The model village is not a museum, but a special place of learning where pupils can understand history, experience sustainability and learn about natural cycles, where they directly experience that raw materials are not infinite and where they try out how many different ways renewable raw materials can be used. Located in the middle of the forest, there are plenty of opportunities for experiences with and in nature.
