Can stones tell stories? On the special children’s city tour “Making Stones Speak” in Hann. Münden, historic stones become fascinating witnesses to the past.

On a varied discovery tour through the historic half-timbered old town and along the Werra River, children and teens learn what secrets lie hidden behind seemingly unremarkable stones.

Accompanied by a tour guide, the young participants discover important stone monuments that bear witness to the history of Hann. Münden. Along the way, they’ll learn about the role the three rivers—the Werra, Fulda, and Weser—played in the development of this once-important trading town and how the historic right of staple contributed to Münden’s prosperity.

What’s the story behind the large stone in the Werra? What story does a stone lion tell? Why are there stone crosses, and what’s hidden behind a brick with a face? These and many other questions are answered in a vivid and age-appropriate way during the city tour for children and teens.

The historic stones tell of events long past, remarkable people, and the lives of earlier generations. Some stories inspire reflection, while others bring a smile and offer surprising insights into the past of the “City of Three Rivers.”

The interactive tour “Bringing Stones to Life” combines playful learning with exciting discoveries and brings the history of Hann. Münden to life in a unique way.

A diverse program for school classes, children’s groups, and teens who want to discover Hann. Münden on an extraordinary city tour and get to know the historic sights from a different perspective.
