Lippoldshausen

Short facts

  • Hann. Münden

Lippoldshausen is a district to the east of Hann. Münden and a popular destination for excursions.

Lippoldshausen is a popular destination for excursions due to its mountain village location, the beautiful half-timbered buildings, the well-developed hiking trails and, last but not least, its two country inns. As the eastern district of the town of Hann. Münden, the wooded surroundings of the village on the border between shell limestone and red sandstone are home to rare plants. The village coat of arms is therefore adorned with a flower of the lady's slipper.

A starting point for hikes

Lippoldshausen is a village with traditions and a lively club life. For excursions by bicycle, the village offers the ideal starting/finishing point. Lippoldshausen lies on the Werra, not far from where the Werra and Fulda join to form the Weser. The village has four well-signposted hiking trails of varying lengths, which are maintained by the local heritage and culture association. Maps can be purchased in the local inns. The European long-distance hiking trail E6/X5 passes through the village on its way from Turkey/Greece to Norway/Finland, which also serves as overnight accommodation for long-distance hikers.

Lippoldshausen is also particularly popular with short excursionists who simply want to have a good meal in the country inns, where the meat still comes from the local farm. Groups are also welcome here and there are special weekend offers for motorcyclists or other travel groups.
