Thanks to the efforts of Barbara Jankowski and the great support of Pastor Dr. Freitag, the Münden food bank was founded by eleven socially committed people.
Today, almost 50 volunteers work two days a week to collect food and pass it on to people living in poverty or at risk of poverty.
The partnerships with Diakonie Münden, the Society for Employment and Vocational Promotion and the town of Münden, which have existed from the very beginning, are still an essential basis for the work of the food bank.
But it can only exist thanks to the voluntary support and the extraordinary willingness to donate in our town, which is characterized by social cohesion.
On Saturday, August 23, we at the Tafel would like to say thank you in public on the church square. We are happy to pass on the soup donations provided for this day by local restaurateurs to anyone who wants to get to know us, talk to us and find out more about our work. And, of course, to those who simply want to enjoy a good soup. While stocks last.
The little ones can have fun on the bouncy castle, with face painting or getting a tattoo! If the parents don't like the tattoo, don't worry, it can be removed without leaving any residue :)
The Gimte trombone choir will be playing music, so we look forward to spending a pleasant time with you on the church square on the occasion of our anniversary.
