The wives of the Reformers meet, strike up conversations, and share their stories—and Elisabeth von Calenberg-Göttingen, the “Princess of the Reformation,” also weighs in.
These women not only championed their new religious convictions; they also fought for a new role in marriage, family, the church, and society. And so, many historical events appear in a different light when, for example, Katharina Luther, Anna Zwingli, or Elisabeth Cruciger clearly articulate their perspectives on the Reformation and the challenges it entailed.
Dressed in historical costumes, women from the Hann. Münden City Guide Guild bring the period before and after the Reformation back to life.
