With Mana Usui, the Münden Organ Summer 2026 welcomes an internationally sought-after concert organist who has lived and performed in the Kassel region for many years. Born in Kyoto, Japan, she initially studied organ, piano and musicology in Tokyo before obtaining her soloist diploma in organ at the Frankfurt University of Music under Prof. Edgar Krapp. She then completed her training with renowned European organists and harpsichordists.
Mana Usui regularly performs on important historical and modern organs in Germany, Europe and Japan. Concert tours have taken her to the cathedrals of Bamberg, Fulda and Schleswig, to the famous Silbermann organs of Saxony and to numerous cathedrals and concert halls in Europe and her home country of Japan. Her broad repertoire ranges from early baroque to contemporary music.
In addition to her work as a soloist, Mana Usui is also highly regarded as a harpsichordist and chamber musician. She particularly enjoys playing in combination with other instruments and developing themed concert programs.
