Mushrooms with a difference! Mushroom education course

In 44 days

Short facts

Fungi belong neither to the plants nor to the animals but form their own kingdom.

Fungi are very special creatures in our ecosystem - not plants and not animals, but they form their own kingdom. They form symbioses, some have their "own" tree on which they want to grow, some are so tiny that they can only be recognised under a microscope and yet they are always there. They offer a fascinating variety of shapes and colours and we can prepare great dishes with them!

This course combines elements from the basic mushroom identification course - ecology, life forms, systematics, edible and poisonous mushrooms - with educational elements. How can I present their importance in the ecosystem, what simple methods are there for recognising mushrooms, how can I present the beauty of mushroom diversity?

On a joint excursion, we go in search of the diverse forest dwellers.

Please bring your own collecting basket and knife!

This course is recognised as a mushroom coach training course, as proof of further training for the nature and landscape guide certificate and as a proportionate compulsory elective module for the forest education certificate of the Lower Saxony State Forests.
