Mushrooms - more than just a culinary delicacy

In 98 days

Short facts

Did you know that the oldest fossil of a land creature is a fungus? Until the 20th century, biologists categorised fungi as plants, but they form their own kingdom alongside plants and animals - a very diverse one with over 100,000 known species! Fungi are much more than just a source of food. They play crucial roles as decomposers, e.g. in forests, as mycorrhizal partners of many plants, may also be used as insulating materials in the future and their ingredients are still far from being researched for their medical significance.
We will approach this extensive topic in a playful way.
