Pipper, a self-taught artist from Staufenberg, works with acrylic on cardboard.
The works are created without preliminary drawings and develop in the process.
The starting point are things that occupy her, personal experiences as well as thoughts and inner states. The pictures grow gradually, often over several days.
They are created in layers and superimpositions, breaks are juxtaposed with calmer areas
Intense areas of color are characteristic - especially red, which stands for life, love and hate. Recurring, deliberately imperfect circular forms run through the works and stand for people and encounters.
In terms of content, the works revolve around stagnation, pressure and new beginnings, they demand a confrontation and leave room to find oneself in them.
The works are accompanied by concise dialogs that do not provide an explanation but open up a second level:
- Where were you?
- In the void.
- And now?
- Here.
Around a dozen works and two related miniatures will be on display, which deal with flight, persecution and lasting traces in the smallest format.
