Short facts

"Swinging Clarinets" with the Schmuck clarinet trio

With its unique combination of clarinet, basset horn and bass clarinet as well as an extraordinary variety of sounds, the "Klarinettentrio Schmuck" delighted many listeners at the 3rd Bursfeld Summer Concert 2025, so that the Kulturring could not avoid engaging the ensemble for 2026 as well. Celebrated by the press as an "absolute top-class performer", the ensemble is one of the best formations of its kind. This rare combination, which gained worldwide fame through Sabine Meyer's Trio di Clarone, remains a rarity on the chamber music stage. With a masterful command of their instruments and a deep passion for chamber music, the three artists succeed in enchanting their audiences time and time again. Their performances are characterized by an effervescent joy of playing, a magical dialogue and harmonious interplay. The trio's repertoire is as varied as it is fascinating: it ranges from classical music to film music, tango and jazz. Charming moderations that create a personal connection with the audience enrich every concert and make it an unforgettable experience. A concert by the clarinet trio is a musical highlight that leaves nothing to be desired. This year, the Schmuck clarinet trio invites you to a lively afternoon under the motto "Swinging Clarinets".
Sayaka Schmuck, Johann-Peter Taferner and Kristóf Dömötör present a program full of energy, passion and groove - from George Gershwin's legendary "Rhapsody in Blue" to the Brazilian classic "Tico Tico" by Zequinha de Abreu and the velvety-jazzy sounds of Sydney Bechet and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Astor Piazzolla's rousing tango is also a must. Experience an afternoon full of swing, emotion and joy - a musical celebration that combines classical music, jazz and South American temperament to create a unique concert experience.
