1st Bursfeld summer concert: vocal ensemble Opella nova: "The inner flame"

In 125 days

Short facts

Musical treasures by Schein, Monteverdi, Gesualdo, Tallis, Schütz and others form the tableau for readings from the secret diary of London gentleman Samuel Pepys. Pepys wrote his extremely interesting, exciting and amusing texts around the middle of the 17th century. They were initially considered lost after his death in May 1703 before being rediscovered 150 years later. Music and texts merge on this evening to create an entertaining, acoustic journey back in time to the early European Baroque.
