Speaker: Dr Alexander Geib, Head Physician at the Clinic for General Internal Medicine & Cardiology
With around 440,000 hospital admissions per year, heart failure is one of the most common cardiac diseases with full inpatient hospital stays in Germany. It usually begins unnoticed and insidiously. The first symptoms are unspecific: performance decreases, those affected become exhausted more quickly, feel short of breath and have to take frequent breaks. It is not uncommon for those affected to blame the symptoms on temporary exhaustion or signs of ageing. This is fatal, as the heart disease continues to progress if left untreated.
In our presentation, we would like to address the topic of heart failure and provide information about the disease.
