“It’s hard to say goodbye—say goodbye to my girl.” We, the Tampenjungs Shanty Friends from Gimte, are true shanty singers who have been performing sea shanties and maritime music—songs about the sea, waves, and love—for our audience for over 30 years. Our challenge is to take the audience along with us on our shanty boat. We—17 singers and 5 instrumentalists—have a great time, and the audience sails with us in their minds across the world’s oceans.
