The festival in Hann. Münden, between Göttingen and Kassel
The Rock for Tolerance Open Air (RFTOA) has become a firm favourite among live events in Hann. Münden and the surrounding area in recent years. Every year since 2016, regional and national bands have taken to the stage at our festival to fly the flag for more tolerance and togetherness. The combination of concert, fundraising and exhibition of social projects appeals to a wide audience. From punk to alternative to metal, from local heroes to professional bands, you'll find everything on our stages. And the RFTOA is ideally located: The festival takes place in southern Lower Saxony, right on the border with Hesse. The RFTOA is located pretty much in the centre of Germany.

The RFTOA Festival has been taking place since 2017 on the meadow at Tanzwerder in Hann. Münden in Lower Saxony, right on the border with Hesse, not far from the larger cities of Göttingen and Kassel. The festival site offers a variety of culinary delights (including vegetarian and vegan options), the usual beer mushrooms and, of course, cocktails and more at the famous party liner. Since 2018, the RFTOA has also offered a varied children's programme.

Parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the festival site and the train station is within easy walking distance. There is a campsite in the immediate vicinity and some small to large hotels are also within walking distance.

Events as social work
Rock for Tolerance is more than just a music festival, because this series of events is intended to set an example for more tolerance. And everyone should be able to take part. That's why we say: Pay what you can! We offer tickets at different price levels. People who still can't afford the ticket have the opportunity to get a free ticket. In addition, admission is free for people under 16 and over 65, as well as for club members. Rock for Tolerance e.V. is committed to education, the promotion of democracy and the empowerment of marginalised groups all year round. With our festival, we offer a safe space in which everyone should feel comfortable. In order to realise this in the best possible way, a team was formed that has created a comprehensive awareness concept that is used at our festival.

The association has also carried out or co-organised many other activities. These included peace demonstrations in the context of Putin's attack on Ukraine, aid transports to the Polish-Ukrainian border, refugee and patient return transports from Ukraine, various campaigns for International Women's Day and much more. This means that with every shirt you buy, every drink you drink and every portion of fries you sell, you automatically support a variety of social projects and more!

Donation collection
Donations are collected during the event, which are distributed to socially integrative projects in Hann. Münden and the surrounding area upon request. In recent years, we have supported a wide variety of projects and organisations with a total of around EUR 85,000.

Rock for Tolerance e.V. supports projects and initiatives from Hann. Münden and the surrounding area in the areas of welfare, art and culture, education, popular and vocational training, youth and elderly care, international cooperation, tolerance in all areas of culture and international understanding, as well as charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 53 of the German Tax Code. We have supported a large number of projects in recent years.
