Open Sunday in the medieval village of Steinrode

The medieval model village of Steinrode will open its doors to visitors again on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. We ask for three euros "road toll" from people aged 18 and over, children and young people free. To quench hunger and thirst, there will be a barbecue, coffee and cake at moderate prices. On our grounds, games such as "Viking tennis", "mouse races", "ladder golf" and more are available for young and old. During a guided tour (approx. 1 p.m.) you can get to know the village and the work of our association, Förderverein für Umweltbildung und Waldpädagogik an Schulen e.V.. The monk invites you to write with pen and ink. Children can make funny "egg gnomes" from blown-out eggs, some fabric and beads - without any glue. Participation is free, but we recommend bringing blown-out eggs as it is difficult to estimate how long our supplies will last. We have also organized two wreath-making workshops, the first from 11 am to 1 pm and the second from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. We will be working with natural materials without plastic blanks or wire. Participation in one of these workshops costs nine euros per adult and six euros for children (aged 12 and over) and young people. The number of participants is limited to eight per workshop. Reservations can be made by email to info@steinrode.de by Friday, March 14 at the latest, please include your full name and the workshop time. Remaining or latecomer places can be filled directly on Sunday. Participants in these workshops do not pay a travel fee.
