Open Sunday in the medieval village of Steinrode

In 4 days

Short facts

The medieval village Steinrode, Hann. Münden, Kohlenstraße 101, opens its doors again on Sunday, August 17, for spontaneous visitors. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can get to know the model village and the work of the sponsor, Förderverein für Umweltbildung und Waldpädagogik an Schulen, have fun playing all kinds of games or simply enjoy the day outside. Trail fee for adults: 3 euros, children and young people free. Young and old can borrow and try out games of skill from the monk in the church or write with pen and ink. The blacksmith accepts helpers who can forge S-hooks for an "apprenticeship fee". There will be homemade cakes, coffee and cold drinks as well as a barbecue. A short guided tour starts at around 12 noon before a creative workshop begins from 1 p.m. to around 3 p.m.: small baskets can be woven from slices of branches and flexible twigs, which can be turned into a vase with an eggshell or a lantern with a glass. The lantern can be decorated with moss, stones and whatever else we find. With a bit of luck, there will be enough tansy and mugwort to turn the lantern into an anti-mosquito light. Participation costs 5 euros, registration is not required. We would like to politely point out that the consumption of food and drinks brought along is not permitted on our open Sundays. Dogs are welcome, please keep them on a lead.

If you would like to use Steinrode beyond the open Sundays, you can rent the village for private parties or meetings or book a program for children/youth groups.

Inquiries are best sent by e-mail to info@steinrode.de .
