Every novel, every story follows its own laws. In part, this inner structure is based on the decisions we consciously make while writing: the choice of perspective, tone of voice, sequence of events, etc. But texts develop their own will. But texts develop their own will; writing is always a dialog with one's own text.
In the Literary Writing Workshop, the focus is on practice. We will write and then playfully change our texts, experiment with different narrative forms and discuss what effect we achieve in each case. The focus is always on the question of what our text needs, what makes it more individual and haunting. Depending on our wishes and needs, we will also discuss basic concepts of storytelling such as perspective, narrative voice, pacing, etc. The course does not require any writing experience.
