Pipper, a self-taught artist from Staufenberg, works with acrylic on cardboard.
The works are created without preliminary drawings and develop in the process.
The starting point is things that occupy her, personal experiences as well as thoughts and inner states. The paintings grow gradually, often over several days.
They are created in layers and superimpositions, breaks are juxtaposed with calmer areas
Characteristic are intense areas of color - especially red, which stands for life, love and hate. Recurring, deliberately imperfect circular forms run through the works and stand for people and encounters.
In terms of content, the works revolve around standstill, pressure and departure, they demand a confrontation and leave room to find oneself in them.
The works are accompanied by concise dialogues that do not provide an explanation, but open up a second level:
- Where were you?
- Im Nichts.
- Und jetzt?
- Hier.
Around a dozen works and two related miniatures are on display, which deal with flight, persecution and lasting traces in the smallest format.
