The wooden kings and queens are now on tour on five continents. From May 18 to June 15, 2025, they will make a stop at St. Blasius Church in Hann. Münden (Ziegelstraße). "Human dignity inviolable" is the title of the exhibition.
It will be opened during the church service on Sunday, May 18 at 10 a.m. and can then be viewed daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. The kings will not all be standing in the church the whole time, but will also swarm out. Members of the Blasius Committee will visit institutions in Hann. Münden with the figures to draw attention to the topic of human dignity in a wide variety of contexts. These visits will be documented with photos, which in turn will gradually be added to the exhibition. Mirrors with crowns will also be set up in the church. When visitors look into these mirrors, they will see themselves crowned.
Ralf Knoblauch first trained as a carpenter before devoting himself to studying theology. He is now a Catholic deacon in Bonn. He carved the first king figure in 2007. There are now several hundred. Even if external circumstances take everything away from a person, he cannot lose his dignity from a Christian point of view, is the conviction behind it.
