Franz Schubert's Winterreise -  A special matinee with music and readings

Cozmin Sime, baritone, sings Franz Schubert's Winterreise and is accompanied by Vera Weht, pianist, on the grand piano. In between Schubert's art songs, Petra Bettermann
will readdocumentary short stories by Stefan Weiller from his book "Deutsche
Winterreise" (German Winter Journey), which offer a new perspective on Schubert's
famous song cycle with the experiences of contemporary people such as homelessness, poverty and social exclusion.

Cozmin Sime, a Romanian baritone, impresses with his powerful voice and versatile
interpretations. He is engaged at the Staatstheater Kassel and can currently be seen there in the opera "Carmen".

Vera Weht was born in Volgograd and has lived in Germany since 1994. She is a lecturer
in piano, chamber music and accompaniment at the Kassel "Louis Spohr" Music Academy.
Critics and audiences describe the musician as an "extremely sensitive and empathetic
song pianist".

Petra Bettermann performs as a presenter and reader in chamber music programmes
. With numerous ensemble projects of this kind, she established the "Kultur
zum Feierabend" series in Göttingen with the "That`s me - Company", of which she is the first chairperson.
