Church is ready for the movies!

In 15 days

Short facts

The clarinet ensemble Merulea and the vocal trio Dreiklang invite you to a special joint concert evening on February 14, 2026 at 7 p.m.: small and large film music hits will be presented in different instrumentations. The Göttingen organist Gerd Bergemann has also been invited to perform on the organ.

Under the motto 'Kirche ist filmreif!', the musicians will whisk you away into the world of film music. Let yourself be enchanted by the music that lends fullness and emotion to the moving images and makes us float as well as cry or laugh. The instrumental possibilities of the clarinet ensemble, the vocal sensitivity of the vocal trio and the unbridled power of the organ offer a broad spectrum of interpretations that make the well-known hits sound surprisingly lively and not always completely unchanged. But this is no ordinary concert.

To provide a special setting, Ernst-Ulrich Göttges will accompany you through the evening and film history with a great deal of wit and charm. A very special atmosphere is created by the lighting of the church, which is adapted to each piece. The program includes melodies from the various genres of film music, from the witty and lively 'Mit nem nemen kleen Stückchen Glück' from 'My fair lady' to action-packed James Bond hits and the fantastically epic 'Who want's to live forever' from 'Highlander'. Let yourself be enchanted like in the movies...
