On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the fishing and rafting village of Gimte will celebrate its 1055th anniversary.
From 10:30 a.m., a varied program for young and old awaits you on the festival mile (Berliner Str. & lower Volkmarshäuser Str.).
You can look forward to old craftsmanship, historic vehicles and agricultural machinery, a colorful children's program, dance and song performances as well as an exhibition on the history of the village.
The varied culinary offerings, from fresh smoked fish and home-made sausages to traditional snack and cake stands, leave nothing to be desired. A special highlight is the sale of Gimter Klümpe, tasty potato dumplings with bacon and sour cream sauce, which are prepared according to an original recipe from 1860 that has been kept secret to this day.
